Currently...

I am currently recovering from a wonderful night spent at the Kate Nash concert with a few dear friends. The show was BANANAS. May I just restate my undying affection for Miss Nash? Talk about a performer! I've had the privilege of seeing her once before, and I am completely blown away with the amount of raw talent this woman has. Uhh-mazing.
Kate also had the cutest opening act along with her. So cute, in fact, that their name is actually Supercute!.  These girls put on a great show, as well, especially when you consider that all the members are still in their teens. I wish I had been as cool as these ladies when I was hitting double digits. Jeesh.
Well, I am off to down more tea and rest up before heading back to the reality of work and other responsibilities. I seem to have picked up some flu-like symptoms that I'm not so happy about, so I'm hoping to shake them by the morning. If you want to see pictures from the show, head over to my friend, Ashley's, page: Fancy That.
Until next time, bloggers

Style Icon: Veronica Mars

Veronica Mars
There are many events in a person's life that he or she will never forget; first kiss, graduation, landing a dream job, wedding day, etc. One of those events for me is the first time I saw Veronica Mars. Too much? Sorry 'bout it. Veronica Mars was my saving grace in middle school, and my first real role model. A savvy, ex-cheerleader outcast/teen-detective; I was hooked. Middle school was a rough couple of years for me. Okay, people? I wanted to dress like Veronica, take up photography, and cross my fingers for the son of a Hollywood actor to be waiting for me at my locker(i.e. Logan Echolls) To my despair, the show was cancelled after season three, without a proper ending. As you can imagine, my excitement was through the roof when talks of a movie surfaced earlier this week. *Cue high-pitched squeels* Whether the movie actually happens or not, Veronica will forever be a style icon.

Pinspiration: Spring

I love Pinterest. Like, really love it. Food, fashion, home decor, and pictures of cats all in one place. It's like Tumblr all grown up. These are just a few of the pins keeping my mind on Spring. It snowed again here in Ohio yesterday, so I need all the help I can get with shaking the Winter blues.
You know what else is keeping me inspired? The announcement of THE VERONICA MARS MOVIE. The funds are being raised by fans of the prematurely-cancelled show through Kickstarter. Creator, Rob Thomas made over 2 million dollars in just the first twelve hours of launching the project. I have been waiting 8 years for justice to be given to my favorite fictional sleuth.  Once a "Marshmellow", always a "Marshmellow". If you, too, are a fan of the show and want to see the movie become a reality, go to Thomas's Kickstarter page. and send a donation. There are really cool prizes being offered up!
     What's keeping you inspired?

Maple Syrup Festival

I know, I went a bit overboard with the pictures, yet again. But, there was a lot to capture at The Malabar Farm Maple Syrup Festival. Andy and I slept in even later than usual this weekend with the time-change. But, lucky enough for us, there were still a few hours left of the festivities by the time we scraped ourselves out of bed.
Malabar Farm had wagon rides, treats, and demonstrations galore on how the employees produce the syrup. Even a few without the modern convenience of machinery. It was awesome. Have I convinced you of how lame I am yet? Andy and I finished the day with sundaes(yeah, before dinner),  Chaos the cat, and a picnic at the Gorman nature center. All and all, I'd say it was a pretty successful weekend.

Outfit: Hello, Sunshine.

I am so happy that we were able to get a taste of Spring this weekend, even though its already back to chilly and overcast here in Ohio. I will be over the moon when the sunshine decides to stick around. For now, I am digging up the motivation to get myself to work. Happy Tuesday, everyone!

My Week According to Instagram

Or, should I say weeks? My life as of late has not been worth documenting, so my Instagram has drastically slowed down. However, here are a few things I found share-worthy:
I got hit with a sudden burst of motivation, and decided to use my elliptical for something other than hanging scarves from. My sister and I have been doing pretty well with exercising lately; mostly work-out DVDs and walks when the weather permits. I've never been fitness-crazed, in fact I loathe the idea of people voluntarily attending gyms, but I have to say it does feel good to get active. Even if its only to feel better about a second-helping of ice cream. Woopsies.

I was having just about the worst day until Andy sent me a picture of this couch, which he bought for our future apartment. It is perfect, and even more gorgeous in person. Upon telling my friend, Ashley, about this, I was told that I had a keeper in a man that would willingly buy a floral couch. I couldn't agree more.

Andy and I took a day trip to nearby Marion for a change of scenery. They have the best Salvation Army shop I have ever been to. The selection is to die for. Marion also has a Sonic restaurant, which is something my hometown lacks. Cherry limeades are my world.

Here I am, getting plenty of use out of my new tea kettle. Kroger was having a huge sale on just about everything in the kitchen department, so I was able to take home this beauty for under five dollars.

A very sloppy meow-nicure.

This was right before heading out to pick my friend, Laura, up to see TEGAN AND SARA. I was able to take my jean jacket out of storage for the occasion due to some untimely, but welcome, sunshiny weather. It was the perfect day to wait in line for a concert. Tegan and Sara exceeded all expectation, playing the perfect mix of old and new songs. I wish I was able to enjoy it fully, but unfortunately I was victim of a mass beer-spill, and had to tend to my soaked self  before everyone assumed I had wet myself. Jeesh. (P.S.-This has become my new favorite hairstyle;a mix between a braided crown and a twisted bun. I hope to be back soon with a tutorial!)

And, finally, we are all caught up. Andy and I spent the end of the weekend at the Malabar Farm Maple Syrup Festival, watching demonstrations and spending way too much for some syrup of our own. It was completely worth it. (I will have more pictures of our Malabar Farm adventures tomorrow.) We came back home to feed on homemade ice cream sundaes, since none of the seasonal shops have opened yet.

That about wraps up the last few weeks for me. I'm currently in full-on bum mode, since taking the day off after experiencing some back pain. I'm pretty sure its due to a possible kidney infection, but am hoping it will cease by the morning. I hope all of you had a lovely weekend!

Girls Day In

I apologize in advance for the over-abundance of photos, ya'al. I seem to be playing catch-up now that my camera has made it's way back into my own hands(I've been leaving it at Andy's since he's the real photographer). Anyways, these were all taken a few days ago, on an outing with my dear friend, Ashley. We spent the day thrifting, snapping pictures, and welcoming the new Cool Ranch Doritos Taco into our lives(bikini season takes the backseat, when it comes to Taco Bell). You can see more from our rainy-day adventure over on Ashley's page, Oh, Fancy That. She is a crazy-talented writer, and a huge inspiration for Rags and Roses.
I'll leave you with a few of the treasures I was lucky to find during our day out:
Until next time, bloggers.
