Happy Easter, Y'all.

This Easter weekend was spent at my Nanny's house, which is probably one of my favorite places on Earth. We browsed the farmer's market, took a morning walk, gorged on food, and got well-acquainted with the couch. It was very much over-due for a weekend off, and I'm so happy to have been with some of the people who mean the most to me. Hope everyone's holiday was just as enjoyable!
Until next time,
Heather

P.S.-The blueberry goodness we made to go over ice cream was a recipe I got from my friend, Ashley's, blog. It was delish!

Nowhere Fast.

I spent the afternoon with one of my favorite ladies on the plant, Miss Ashley. We headed to downtown Mansfield when I got off work to indulge in girl talk, sweet treats, reading material, and of course, tea. We later braved the cold to snap some long-awaited pictures together; we've been friends for way too long not to be in the same frame. This particular area of town is quickly becoming my favorite. I don't usually make it past the mass-produced superstores and food chains to get into the parts of locally owned businesses. It was a nice change if scenery.
I finished out the day with a few (or more) of the baked goods we picked up, spoiling my fajita dinner. Afterwards, I curled up with the latest edition of my favorite magazine and (another) cup of  tea. I'd say it was a successful day out. I only hope that next time, the sun grants us with it's presence. I'm so over cloudy skies and winter coats. Ugh.
I'm off to spend Easter weekend with my family, celebrating my sister's birthday with Greek food and a sleepover at my Nanny's house. Have a good holiday and weekend!

With love,
Heather.

Outfit: The Good Times Are Killing Me.

I had a wonderful day out with my friend and fellow blogger, Ashley. We went to a few of my favorite spots in downtown Mansfield, including the bakery, bookstore, and coffee shop. I was most excited about taking some proper shots for an outfit post, though. It's been a while. I'll be back with more pictures from our adventure tomorrow!

Outfit details:
Sweater: TJ Maxx
Jeans: Urban Outfitters
Loafers:Target
Bag: TJ Maxx

P.S. The bag I'm carrying is by Urban Expressions, a vegan leather/cruelty free brand. They are PETA approved, and have such a wide variety of styles, textures, and colors. I am a big fan of the brand, and snag a new bag whenever we get new ones in at work. Check them out!

Pinspiration: Ink.

Let's talk about tattoos, people, because I happen to love them. The two that I have are very dear to me; a feminism symbol below my ear and a typewriter/Sylvia Plath quote on my shoulder. I have been dying to get more basically since I was still applying lotion to heal the last one, a year or so ago. The lovely images floating around Pinterest are not helping me shake these urges, either. I'm hoping by Summer, there will be a few more making their way onto my skin. In the meantime, swooning over other peoples work will have to suffice.

P.S. I'm sure everyone is hearing a lot on the equal rights movement with the Supreme Court case that's been happening. Unfortunately, the majority of what I've seen plastered on social networking sites has been negative/hateful; on both sides of the argument. I am of personal belief that there is absolutely nothing wrong or threatening about these individuals attaining the right to marry; I think its devastating that our nation is still withholding equal rights from any group of people actually. This is the only place that you'll see me talking about it, though. I'd rather not dive into the Facebook battle's front-lines. Can everyone just get along/respect each other? Maybe in another couple decades. Jeesh. I leave you with an image I found on one of my friend's pages. Henry Rollins for life.

Until next time, y'all.

Happy Birthday, You.

Today is my sister, Shandi's, 25th Birthday! Shandi is not only my sister, but my best friend in the entire universe. She is the smartest, funniest, strongest, most beautiful person I know. This is a big year for her, not only with turning 25, but with graduating from college. I could not be more proud of the woman she is, and I am honored to have such an incredible sister to look up to. I love her to pieces. Happy Birthday, sis.

Sweet Nothings.

I apologize for the blogging hiatus; apparently my life is not as exciting as I thought. Things around here have slowed down tremendously now that I don't have any concerts to attend, day trips planned, or even a day off for that matter. So, instead of an outfit or photos from an adventure, here are a few snapshots of just a couple things keeping me happy.
I've been trying to get everything ready for my sister's birthday. She's turning 25! So, at least I've had that to keep me busy. I found the PERFECT gift for her, which is no easy feat when it comes to buying for Shandi. She may even shed a birthday tear. *Fingers crossed* I've also begun the frustrating task of Spring cleaning, even though its still blizzard-ing here in Ohio. I am the worst at getting rid of things/organizing my personal belongings. I've never quite mastered the whole "get rid of one thing when you bring in something new". And, as you can see, I get a bit distracted by the goods I find. Cleaning has been a slow process, to say the least. To make the process of simplifying my inventory even harder, I bought a gazillion new DVDs to add to my already mass collection. The local Blockbuster is going out of business, but I can't say I'm completely devastated: the total for all of those movies was $9! After planning out some new, warm-weather outfits, I ate something semi-homemade for once. I've been hitting up the drive-thru's way more often than I'd like to admit here lately. Whoops.
That's about the extent of the excitement happening in my neck of the woods. What have you been up to lately?
Until next time,
Heather
